Freiberger is a chassis platform with one electric motor per wheel, mounted inboard on the sprung chassis, and steering on all four wheels – for utility, agricultural, logistics and robotic vehicles. We license the platform and develop it together with vehicle makers.

All four wheels steer. Tighter turns than a comparable front-steer vehicle, fewer shunting moves in yards, rows and narrow streets.
All wheels turn the same way, up to 40° at walking pace: the vehicle shifts diagonally without turning – along a kerb, a crop row or a loading dock.
Torque controlled per wheel works like electronic differential locks: less wheel spin on mud, grass, gravel and slopes, and gentler on the soil.
The same platform gives extra ground clearance for fields and rough terrain, or a low floor for city and logistics vehicles. Motors sit on the sprung chassis, protected from water, stones and impacts.
Each wheel has its own motor and steering. The control system is designed so that if one fails, the others take over and the vehicle can still reach a safe place.
One steering logic for every control mode – from a cab with steering wheel to teleoperation and fully driverless robots. Modular axle units for new builds or conversions.
Sideways movement fades out smoothly between 7 and 10 km/h. Normal steering always stays available.
The Freiberger comes from the Swiss Jura: a compact horse bred for mountain farms, and still used by the Swiss army to carry loads where no vehicle can go. Calm, sure-footed and strong in all conditions. That is what we build: a platform that goes where others have to turn back, and keeps working when conditions get rough.
Freiberger is an engineering company where mechanical design and control software are developed as one. The drive layout, suspension and steering geometry make the manoeuvres possible; the control software decides – wheel by wheel, many times per second – how to use them safely.
We partner with vehicle makers to bring the platform to market – per application, under licence or as a joint development.
The platform is built from proven components. We work with suppliers across the supply chain to turn it into series-ready modules.
